As we know examinations are an inevitable part of our education system. They might not be that much significant in long run. But it's necessary to clear the examinations for higher studies.
Your exam scores don't reflect your subject knowledge.
I have seen some students with deep subject knowledge fail in exams and some with mediocre subject knowledge passed the exams with minimal effort. See the difference is not the knowledge, it's how you appeared for the exam. The most crucial times in examinations are the time of examination those 2or 3 hours define your results. So that is why I am stressing the importance of post-analysis of exams.
The Reverse method
Normally every study suggestion blog or website or youtube channel starts with making plans, time allocation etc. That's all necessary to cover from basics. But I would like you to introduce a reverse method.
This method works for students who already appeared for exams and who got their results.
Question paper analysis
This is the first and most important thing in the method. I have seen many saying don't look into question paper what we wrote is written we can't do anything about it. Yes correct we can't correct it now, but we can correct our mistakes next time.
Maybe you don't need to analyse the question paper immediately. you can check it after finishing all the examinations. But don't wait for too long, because after days we will forget what we wrote..that is quite a natural thing. But for beneficial improvement, we need a clear picture.
Note down the points
During the analysis, we should write down things. If we keep it in our memory eventually we will partially forget this. Exam results may take a delay to publish. In my opinion, write the notes in the question paper itself.
If you wrote it somewhere you may lose it. Question papers are usually safely kept.
What are the points to note down
Firstly you should mark down whether you attend the question or not.
Secondly the difficulty level of that question for you
And you may note the expected marks for your answer.
For detailed analysis, you can write the important points you wrote in the answer. This will help you to check with the answer keys later
More detailed explanations of each stage will be uploaded as separate articles. Subscribe to our notifications
Now moving to a brief analysis of strategies to follow after the results
Checking exam results
After every result, you should analyse the mark you got. The most important question is are satisfied with your score?? If yes don't think too much enjoy. If not we should look into it.
Count your expected score with your old question paper and compare it with the original marks. If you see a big difference, ask your classmates about the results of that particular subject. If you find out a trend of difference between the expected mark and the original Mark, if available consider the options of revaluation.
Preparing for the next
Through your analysis, you may get a clear picture of what went wrong.
Like I should write more I should be more specific or should attend more questions,
And also you will get an idea about the patterns in question papers, and expected points from the valuer.
Your answer should match the conditions in the answer key.
