How to stay calm during exams | 9 practical exam tips

Exams are often a time of great stress and anxiety, but there are things that you can do to try and stay calm. Below are some tips to help you cope

 with exam anxiety.

First, try and get a good night's sleep before your exam. A good night's sleep will help you feel rested and more able to focus on the task at hand.

It's important to stay calm and collected during exams. If you can keep your emotions in check, you'll be less likely to experience stress and anxiety. Here are a few tips for coping with exam stress.

Depending on the type of examination, you may be required to arrive at the examination centre early to get started. This can help to reduce the amount of time that you spend waiting and allows you to start the examination on time. If possible, try to arrive at the examination centre at least two hours before your scheduled start time

Arriving on time for the examination is important and next, make sure to drink enough water before entering the exam hall. Being hydrated will make you more focused and reduce your stress.

For proper brain function water is necessary. If allowed bring a water bottle into the exam hall and drink little water at specific intervals

Along with drinking water, make sure to go to the washroom before the exam.  A filled bladder will cause problems as you know. Reaching the exam centre early will buy you enough time for this.

After receiving the question paper arrange a cool time for yourself. Read all the questions don't miss any. This will help you to make a plan for writing the exam. If you find the question that is easier for you feel relaxed and start to write according to your plan.

If you can not find questions from portions you studied well. Don't panic that will only make you forget the portions you already studied. And this stress will make you miss easy questions. I know this happens to many of you.

But in reality, we can handle this easily. In an examination, only a few questions will come out as difficult ones. And most of the remaining questions are either easy or with average difficulty.

It's a natural thing to think exam as a tough one after seeing some difficult questions, just zoom out and see the difference.

The Next important point to remember while writing your examinations is

don't spend too much time on one question.

Irrespective of whether is it an easy or hard question. The maximum mark you can score from that question is limited also your exam time beware of that.

Allocate time according to the maximum score of questions.

Make good use of time.

In exams, you know the allotted time is fixed so you should make use of every minute. Track the time from the beginning of the exam.

This will help you to reduce the last-minute rush that will sometimes make you forget things or miss question numbers.

Last-minute stress will make you do crazy things.

The last tip for you is to make sure to take a break even if it is an exam.

What?! Yes, that's not-so-common advice.  I am not mentioning about a 5 or 10 minutes break just take 30 seconds to 1-minute break after every 30 minutes.

That will do wonders I assure you.

Our brain is very busy and hectic reconnecting and reviving information and compiling so this short break boosts your brain activity.

What went wrong?? Importance of exam analysis

As we know examinations are an inevitable part of our education system. They might not be that much significant in long run. But it's necessary to clear the examinations for higher studies. Your exam scores don't reflect your subject knowledge. I have seen some students with deep subject knowledge fail in exams and some with mediocre subject knowledge passed the exams with minimal effort. See the difference is not the knowledge, it's how you appeared for the exam. The most crucial times in examinations are the time of examination those 2or 3 hours define your results. So that is why I am stressing the importance of post-analysis of exams.
